A Shaker of Margaritas

by Kathy Holmes

Here it is just a week away from that all-American tradition of turkey and stuffing, and I'm thinking about Margaritas - A SHAKER OF MARGARITAS: HOT FLASH MOMMAS, an anthology of short stories about women and their mid-life adventures, published by Mozark Press, that is. I recently received my author copy, and I know what other authors mean when they say they want to sleep with their books. I'm thankful to the digital readers out there, but I'm definitely a print kinda gal.

One thing I love about A SHAKER OF MARGARITAS is that it's a much-needed fun, virtual girlfriend experience - so needed in today's darker world. It reminds me of my early days of blogging when many of us were writing chick lit and chick lit for the over 40 crowd (I wrote Real Women Wear Red) and had my "chicksover40" blog. It was a lot of fun back then in the writer community. So when a writer friend (thanks, Alli!) told me about the contest, I knew I had to enter and so pleased when my entry VIVA LAS VEGAS made the final cut.

In case you need a copy of A SHAKER OF MARGARITAS: HOT FLASH MOMMAS to escape too much family time over the upcoming holidays or to give as Christmas or other holiday gifts, you can find it in print and kindle on amazon.com. And then if my story VIVA LAS VEGAS catches your attention, you can then continue your Vegas journey in THE TOM JONES CLUB - available on Kindle now and Print in early 2011. (And while you're at it - go ahead - have a real Margarita - make it your new Thanksgiving tradition - but drink responsibly - lol.)

To get a little peek into THE TOM JONES CLUB, here's my brand-new book trailer:

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!!

  3. Hey Kathy - how cool! And congrats! And isn't it great to be part of a "movement" of sorts - even a chick-lit over 40 comedy movement! ;D

  5. Hi Kathy, nice to e-meet you. I just stumbled upon your blog today and noticed that Alli, who I blog with together on noveladventurers, left a comment, so I felt compelled to do the same. Well, I may be partial to the Shaker of Margaritas since it has my story, Allergic to Latex in it, but I really liked the collection, from its fun cover to the great stories. And I think many women can relate to them, so I agree – it makes a great gift. I liked your Las Vegas story - I guess you are an Elvis fan?
