SYNOPSIS:
Spunky, opinionated Katie McCullough has worked for years with one goal in mind--to own the ancient lighthouse and its surrounding buildings in Paige Point, Maryland. Max Sawyer, that's who. Confident and decisive, this former military officer isn't used to having his orders disobeyed. As a developer who specializes in transforming historic properties into boutique hotels and resort spas, the lighthouse property is perfect for his plans. Except his plans for this one have absolutely nothing to do with hotels and everything to do with winning Katie and revealing to her his connection to her brother’s death five years earlier, an event that still haunts him.
Max's winning bid collapses Katie's world like a grass hut in a storm. She is heartbroken and outraged when she assumes her beautiful lighthouse property will be turned into a tourist attraction. Max's bossy sure-of-himself attitude incites a rebellious mischief-making streak that leads Katie to stealthy systematic dismantling of both the houses on the property...and his plans. Unfortunately for Katie, she is caught and assigned community service, working for him.
However, Katie doesn't know that Max is her mystery lighthouse sailor, the one man who captured her heart five years earlier; the one man who has since been the plumb line for every other unsuspecting male who has crossed her path. Unfortunately for Max, he doesn't measure up either. So, as any former military officer would do, Max accepts her call to battle stations, outmaneuvering her at every turn, forcing her to accept him as a man and not a memory and placing Katie in a position where she has no choice but to surrender her heart.
