Passion's Race

From the writing desk of Christine Mazurk

As I put the finishing touches on Passion's Spirit, the second in the Passion's Series, I thought to remind everyone of the first book, Passion's Race.

The heart of change is the change of heart. Life is about never ending choices. Yet some people never have the courage to choose change. CJ Fallon has struggled with a family that she's never quite fit into and a negative body image poisoned by her toxic, emotionally distant mother. CJ's mom finds fault in every choice CJ has made. From earning her degrees; to climbing the corporate ladder; to her love of competing in Ironman triathlons; it's all been one mistake after another according to CJ's mother.

Now that CJ has won her 'age group' in an Ironman race as an amateur, she's on the radar of the world's athletic elite, Nick Madison, a former Tour-de-France star and coach of an up-and-coming Ironman team, wants her to join his outfit and become a professional. A real pro!

CJ struggles with her decision but once she commits to something, there's no turning back.

After all, life is about making choices.
Even if it means leaving a stable career.
Even if it means leaving friends and moving half-way around the world as the only girl on a formerly all male team.
Even if it means living with her mother's rejection.
Even if it means losing her heart.
Even if it means risking her very life.

Won't you join CJ on her journey? And meet a cast of characters sure to warm your heart and tickle your funny bone.

Reviews for Passion's Race:

"Passion" for her craft. This author has a passion for her writing. I know, because as I read, I forgot it was a story, and I jumped, startled, when someone reminded me there was a world around me.

Inspirational. This book's message about family and love was heart warming. Your family is not necessarily the people you're born to, but the support system of friends you develop in the process.

Terrific!!! MUST Read!!! Inspiring, motivating, laugh, cry, cheer ... Just terrific! I can't wait for Christine Mazurk to write the sequel, so many great characters to follow into the future ...

The resort the team stays in on the island of Guam is owned by Mike Dawson, Nick's best friend since age twelve. Mike's a happy-go-lucky surfer dude with a painful past that he's kept hidden even from his best friend. Can the new team doctor, Natalie Walsh, delve under his sunny façade and help him heal even as she tries to get her own complicated life in order?

We'll find out in Passion's Spirit.

Excerpt from Passion's Spirit:

Mike Dawson waited outside of Customs, watching for the team to come through the doors. In previous years, he'd been able to see them through the large glass window, which was now walled off for extra security.

He glanced at his watch, and looked up just in time to see a gorgeous brunette stride through the door, pulling her cell phone from her bag. The serious look on her face conveyed she meant business as she stepped to the side to make her call.

Determined look or not, she was hot. Her tailored pants made her legs seem endless, and the button front shirt only enhanced her lean physique. The angles of her face and the high cheekbones lent an air of mystery, her full mouth, the promise of a steamy kiss. Mmm, a tasty flavor of the month.

The island footprint was tiny, so he was bound to run into her somewhere. How long would she be on the island, and how long before he could entice her to hang out and play?

Stay tuned for more on Passion's Spirit!
Until next time, Hugs - Christine
